URBASER LTD TO DELIVER ROYAL BOROUGH OF WINDSOR AND MAIDENHEAD STREET CLEANSING SERVICES

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has recently awarded their Highway Management and Maintenance contract to VolkerHighways who have selected Urbaser Ltd as a subcontractor to deliver the street cleansing element.

VolkerHighways’ contract worth £5.5 million per year begins 1 April 2017 and runs for five years, with a possible extension of two further years. The contract includes planned, reactive and emergency response maintenance, winter maintenance, gully cleansing and small highways schemes. VolkerHighways will also provide professional services, in association with Project Centre, and street cleansing in association with Urbaser Ltd.

The street cleansing services includes a combination of mechanical and manual street cleansing, cleansing and maintenance of public conveniences and cleansing of public multi-storey car parks.

Javier Peiro, Managing Director of Urbaser Ltd, commented of the new contract: “Urbaser Ltd is delighted to be selected as the Council’s subcontractor to deliver the street cleansing services. During the contract, VolkerHighways and its partners will invest in the local economy, by working with supply chain partners from within the Royal Borough. This will provide employment opportunities across a variety of roles for members of the local community.
